Today is my birthday! I was thinking about what to write. I started to write about my life, but that is not so useful. Then, I decided to write about something that I think I can do well. That is to persevere. Some may think that I’m too proud for pointing that out. But there is nothing wrong with that. Let me explain! If I’m persistent, this would mean that I’m incomplete, weak, faulty, unprepared, insufficient, unable to execute a task or to reach a goal. I need to be persistent, because there is no easy way out; there are no shortcuts. There is something that I want, but I don’t have the power to get it. But wait, there is more. Most people will know that to give iron a desired shape, the blacksmith needs to pass the iron through fire, then hit the metal with a hammer, submerge it in water, and repeat this process several times. Sometimes, the iron becomes irreparable, and it is thrown to a pile of iron-trash. Since a long time ago, one of my constant prayers is to tell God: ``Don’t give up on me! I may need more fire, hammer, or water, but keep working on me.” The point is that my perseverance does not come from me. Many circumstances, orchestrated from above, lead my way and help me to wait. Life is not a garden of delicate flowers, but a garden of roses and their thorns. It is filled with events and smells of happiness, but there is also the sorrow. We need to keep going! We may obtain our victory at our next step. If that does not happen, reset the step counter, and give another step. God is willing to change our life and no matter what, He will always be there. Today, I wish that we will be given the necessary strength to continue the adventure in front of us.
