...it is all about perseverance...

Today is my birthday! I was thinking about what to write. I started to write about my life, but that is not so useful. Then, I decided to write about something that I think I can do well. That is to persevere. Some may think that I’m too proud for pointing that out. But there is nothing wrong with that. Let me explain! If I’m persistent, this would mean that I’m incomplete, weak, faulty, unprepared, insufficient, unable to execute a task or to reach a goal. I need to be persistent, because there is no easy way out; there are no shortcuts. There is something that I want, but I don’t have the power to get it. But wait, there is more. Most people will know that to give iron a desired shape, the blacksmith needs to pass the iron through fire, then hit the metal with a hammer, submerge it in water, and repeat this process several times. Sometimes, the iron becomes irreparable, and it is thrown to a pile of iron-trash. Since a long time ago, one of my constant prayers is to tell God: ``Don’t give up on me! I may need more fire, hammer, or water, but keep working on me.”  The point is that my perseverance does not come from me. Many circumstances, orchestrated from above, lead my way and help me to wait. Life is not a garden of delicate flowers, but a garden of roses and their thorns. It is filled with events and smells of happiness, but there is also the sorrow. We need to keep going! We may obtain our victory at our next step. If that does not happen, reset the step counter, and give another step. God is willing to change our life and no matter what, He will always be there. Today, I wish that we will be given the necessary strength to continue the adventure in front of us.

...changing my topics...

I just decided to remove the hi-tech, slash computers, slash programming, slash research topics from the blog. (Sorry for all the slashes). I understood that most people interested on technical topics may not be interested on my personal experiences and comments. Everyday at work, I write and think about research. So, let skip research for a while and concentrate in my life and how my story can be beneficial to others. In the near future, I will create another blog exclusively for the topics mentioned above. This will be fun! I will use pseudonyms to refer to people in my writings, unless it is appropriate to mention the real name (e.g. to give merit). I'm on a busy schedule, but soon will write my first real post. I will commit a lot of effort on making the posts short and to the point, so keep tuned!

Have a great day!

...my first blog...

This is an exciting time in my life. Some really interesting stuff is taking place. Almost done with my PhD, job hunting, and ... I need a lot of wisdom to choose the best option available or to wait for that door that is still unopened. This blog will be a mixture of everything that is happening in my life and surroundings. I'm a programmer. Therefore, sometimes, I will talk about computer algorithms, hi-tech devices, my research, my struggles, science, and so on. Also, I'm Puerto Rican. Consequently, you will read about Puerto Rico's politics and social issues. I'm also a son and a friend. Moreover, I'm also a Christian. So, I will add my thoughts about life, people, and society. There will be occasions to write about enriching and interesting experiences with my family and friends. Finally and expectantly, I will write about how God changes, works over, guides, encourage, teaches, and nourishes my life.

My first language is Spanish. I will try to do my best with my English, so most people can read the blog. I may do mistakes... I know I will... If you see a mistake, let me know. I always want to improve myself. Hopefully, you can enjoy my writing.
